Training course Do It, Krka NP Croatia 20.-27.9.2026

In September, Mukana's Anna and Outi took part in an Erasmus+ training course organised in Krka National Park, Croatia hosted by Young people in focus -organization. The training focused on using digital tools in schools and youth work across different environments. As our participation was enabled by Marttinen, The Mukana team was joined also by youth worker Senni. Throughout the week we worked alongside participants from Croatia, Slovenia, Belgium and Serbia.

During the week, we had the opportunity not only to learn but also to share our own expertise. We introduced Mukana's activities and materials and facilitated sessions on gamification and game-based learning. In particular, we explored how to create engaging activities in Seppo and design games that encourage participation while taking different participants and different ways of participating into account.

The knowledge and experiences of participants of different ages and professional backgrounds created an inspiring learning environment. We returned home with a toolbox full of new ideas, methods and perspectives – as well as valuable reminders of effective approaches that we may simply have forgotten along the way.

During the TC Do It week, we also had the chance to explore Krka National Park and the museums at Krka Eco Campus, visit Šibenik and see the spectacular waterfalls of Krka. Most importantly, however, the week gave us an opportunity to build networks, find new partners for future projects and exchange experiences of working with young people in different countries and environments.

International projects with young people are fun, exciting and full of learning, but it is equally valuable for us as professionals to sometimes step into the role of learners ourselves. The ideas, methods and perspectives we gain from other professionals may be the best souvenirs we bring home – giving new dimensions to our own work.

And best of all, the learning does not stay in our suitcase. A key part of Mukana's approach is to share knowledge, methods and materials with others. When one person learns something new and passes it on, the benefits can eventually reach a much wider group of young people and the adults who work with them.

For us, that is what being MUKANA – being included and involved – is all about.
